CH7: Destroy Evil! Draco meets the Faust!

Day7: An Invisible War

“All of you are to bring back the demon boy ALIVE.” Commanded Lord Malignus.
“My lord, if he fights back, what must we do?” asked a Vesuvius.
“Well, my fiery friend, you must at least knock him out cold. His punishment awaits. I take his fellow Zabel will even go after him. Now, THROUGH THE PORTAL! ALL OF YOU!”

All demons went through a portal that leads to the human world. Each of the races went through; the fiery Vesuvius, the wind-like Lamia, the liquid Garum, the lustful Succubus and Incubus and lastly, the dark and dreary Zabel. Each of them then seeks their traitor and they all were invisible to humans except those gifted with a third eye.

Meanwhile, in the human world, Joshua lay down on the roof of his house looking at the sky and thinking of what will happen to him. He remembered seeing his mother being burnt on a stake hundreds of years ago and his embitterment were not stopped since then. He then sighed and climbed back into his room when his doorbell rang. When he opened the door, he found Draco.

“Hey Joshua.”
“It’s you. What the hell do you want?”
“I saw you lying down on the top of your roof a few minutes ago. What was on your mind?”
“Screw this, dragon boy. I am not going to say another word.”
“Afraid you’ll be hunted by your own kind?”
Joshua sighed and put a palm on Draco’s forehead.

Draco felt a weird sensation in the middle of his forehead and after Joshua removed his palm, Joshua explained…

“If ever I am chased by other demons, I want you to help me. Just so you can help me, I will give you my sword.”

Joshua held out his hand and thousands of tiny blue orbs seem to be materializing something into Joshua’s hand. It was the same blue sword he held the other day and he handed it over to Draco.

“Draco, I now give this sword, the Faust, to you.”
“Hey, hey! What’s the big deal?! I’m not even ready yet!”
”You are. After all that training in the Soul Academy, you can slay those who are after me.”
“But I’m up against demons here! I don’t even know what they look like!”
“You will when you see them. I’ll tell you how this sword works. It can cut through anything. I stole it from hell’s blacksmith and it can cut through us Zabel too. I fear my fellow Zabel will try and stop me.”
“Impenetrable bodies… of Zabel… Won’t rocket launchers work against you?”
“No. Only this sword can stop us.”
“I see.”

Soon, Joshua’s roof started rattling. His roof burst open and hideous looking creatures with feathery wings came down from the sky. They were the Lamia.

“Traitor! Lord Malignus awaits you in his depths!”
“Stand back, Draco.”

Joshua turned into a Zabel and pounced on a Lamia with his black poisoned claws and started ripping it to shreds.

“Whoa! Joshua! Can you hear me, buddy?!”
Joshua roars and runs towards Draco.

Draco, seeing Joshua who has transformed into a fearsome creature, started running away from him until Joshua reverted to his human self.

“Forgive me, Draco. I can’t speak when I’m a Zabel. I can only be heard when I am in hell.”
“I see. Then how will we communicate?”
”We can’t. I just roar and growl in the human world. Just read my movements.” said Joshua as he returned to his Zabel form.

Draco swung his sword at the Lamia, slaying them one by one while Joshua, on the other hand, protected Draco with his poisoned claws and his razor-like tail. Draco, thinking quickly, hopped onto Joshua’s back. This caused Joshua to return to his human form.

“What the fuck are you doing?!?”
”I was thinking, you could run while I slay the demons who are after you with the…. Um..”
“Faust.”
“Yeah. That’s my plan.”
“It sounds crazy but you better hold on tight, I could fly, jump off buildings or scale the walls.”

Joshua turned into the Zabel again and Draco hopped onto his back.

“LET’S RIDE!” yelled Draco.

Joshua ran through the streets while Draco stood carefully on Joshua’s back as he swung his sword at the demons who tried to touch his friend. Like what Joshua said, he scaled walls and jumped from building to building. Joshua also spread his bat-like wings and flew off with a thrilled Draco on his back.

“WOOHOO! THIS IS BETTER THAN THE SUPERMAN ROLLER COASTER!!!”

Joshua’s Zabel face looked unhappy as he snorted out a puff of smoke.

“Sorry, Josh. It’s kinda fun… Really.”

But, golden hooks pierced through Joshua’s legs thus dragging him downward. Other Zabel were pulling the chains of the hooks and Draco tried to fight them off. Unfortunately, Draco got a nasty clawed wound on his abdomen which left him poisoned on the ground. Seeing Joshua getting dragged into a portal brutally, more hooks emerged from the portal and pierced his arms, chest and head. The young Zabel let out an ear-splitting roar and Draco, lay there motionless due to the poison. The portal closed and Draco reached for his cellphone. He called Tira first.

“Tira… It’s” he coughed out his own blood violently.
“Draco? Draco? Is that you?”
“The demons… they… they.. took…Joshua…”

Day8: The Missing Boy

Draco, was hospitalized and was slowly recovering. Odd that it was supernatural poison and he was strangely recovering effectively. His right arm felt very weird though. It felt like it was coming to life by itself. In school, nobody else but Tira, Sara and Eagle noticed that Joshua and Draco were missing. After class, friends came to visit Draco.

“Draco..” said Tira as she nudged him in his hospital bed.
“Tira…. Sara…. What are you guys doing here?”
“We’re not the only ones.” said Sara. “Mia and Eagle came over too and Atom.”
“Atom?”
“Yeah, he just wanted to find out even if he barely knows you or Joshua.” Tira smiled. “Now, what happened to you?”
”I got poisoned.. by a demon of Joshua’s kind..”
“Demon? What did Joshua look like?” asked Tira.
“He was…. It’s too much for words… He’s just scary.. But, he gave me… a blue… sword.”
”Where is it?” asked Sara.
“Hey, I heard you were attacked by demons and things like that.” A boy stepped into the room.

He had short black hair with bangs hanging over his face and he sat down on the chair. He was Atom.

“If you don’t believe me….. I got this… off of Joshua…”

Draco pointed at his school uniform. It was stained with black liquid. But the liquid seemed like it was not absorbed by his clothes.

“Wow… It’s for real..” said Atom as he touched the thick black pieces.
“If ever you guys… find a blue sword… keep it.. I’m going to save Joshua…”
“Why are you going to save devil boy?” asked Sara.
“Because…. You would too…”
Sara blushed.
“I’m going with you, Draco..” Tira said.
“I might as well join in.” added Atom.
“If I’m going then Mia and Eagle might… go too…” Draco said. “I don’t know what lies down there….. but…. I am not… going to sit here and let… our friend be punished….”
